Visit To Holland,Michigan

Holland, Michigan is a dutch city situated on coast of lake Michigan. Holland is only two and half hour drive from Chicago and only half an hour drive from Grand Rapids. Travel Ideas: Europe

Holland, Michigan was founded by Dutch Americans and still half of its population is of Dutch American heritage. Dutch culture is promoted by government and people of the city. Apart from being a dutch town, Holland is one of the premier Michigan beach town, and well loved by boater, skiers, swimmers etc. It is a very beautiful and unique vacation spot.

Here is two day itinerary for trip to Holland.
Day 1:

Veldeer's Tulip Gardens features about 6-7 millions tulips in amazing variety during spring time on 7 acre farm. During other time, this very well manicured and landscaped gardens are covered with seasonal flowers. A very beautiful place to visit. Just a word of caution, pets are not allowed in these gardens.

Visiting Nelis' Dutch Village makes you feel like you are travelling back in time and visiting Netherlands of 100 year back. There are Dutch farmhouses and traditional dutch dancers, dutch food , ice-cream and cheese, a patting zoo and lots of history. This park is open through early April to early October only.

In the evening visit Holland's historic downtown. Live street performers to summer concerts, diverse shopping and dining to festivities all year round. Downtown of Holland is one of the very happening place. Victorian architecture and hip art scene blend with each other here.

Day 2:
Visit Windmill Island on Day 2. A 30 acre park featuring 230 year old 15 story tall working windmill, beautifully manicured gardens, canals and picnic areas. A oasis in the middle of the city. During summer time traditional performers delight the visitors.
